The field of Intelligent Systems currently includes many subfields starting with general-purpose subfield from machine learning and vision to the specific tasks such as games, mathematical theorem proving and disease diagnosis. This field systemizes and automates intellectual tasks and therefore is important to all areas of human intellectual activities. This is a universal field and also an integral part of the computer science. Modern progress in understanding the theoretical basis of intelligence develops together with the possibilities of improving real systems. Subfields of intelligent systems (artificial intelligence) have become more integrated, and artificial intelligence has established a joint foundation with other disciplines. This primarily includes the integration of audio and visual information in computer systems, various methods for pattern recognition, the research of distributed computing resources, fuzzy logic, stability, neural network, computer network environment, Soft Computing, Computational Intelligence etc. The study program of Intelligent Systems enables students to acquire new knowledge in the field of artificial intelligence including symbolic computing, fuzzy systems, neural networks, genetic algorithms, and Robotics.
